Las Cascadas Hand bound Accordion Book

This is a small hand-made accordion book. It contains images of paintings of waterfalls (las cascadas). These paintings were painted while traveling in Mexico in 2014 doing what I refer to as “waterfall observation”.

The original paintings range in size between 12” and 20” on different types of vellum and paper. The prints in the book are part of a series of twenty watercolor and ink paintings made while touring the central highlands of Mexico, in 2014

Cascades de Tzaráracua, in Uruapan, Mexico were a prominent inspiration. We rode in on horseback to see this spectacle after first visiting the origin of the river; a spring called 'the Devil's Knee' located a fair bit away in an exquisite park dedicated to celebrating water, in the center of the city of Uruapan.

The original edition was of 12 books. There are 4 left.
